On arriving at your store it was confirmed that the bearing was purchased from your store and the sales person name was also identified. The sales person that attended me, tried to get the correct part but couldn’t confirm the supply details i.e. had to order and the store had nil in stock. I was advised to come back, but suggested that they call me as soon as they have feedback. After not receiving the call for more than an hour, I went to the store and asked them to refund me since I couldn’t wait anymore.
I was told that I wasn’t going to get the refund, reason being that:
1. The purchase date has exceeded the duration (14 days) for the return policy.
2. I didn’t have the payment receipt with me.
I then inquired the 14 day return policy since I didn’t know about it, it’s not stipulated anywhere and no one told me about it since I have always bought my parts from your store. I also questioned as to why the bank confirmation isn’t used as a proof that I purchase this item on the day in question. Furthermore, I was surprised that there were no records of my transactions from the store payment records i.e. EFT's are recorded on the book at the till point. I was also much undermined when I was indirectly told that I was lying i.e. was asked to tell the truth as to what else I bought on the day that resulted in my payment to come up to R580.00. This was repeated even after I have indicated that I couldn’t remember and requested that the sales person at the till point check the details of my transaction and give me evidence that I purchased more than one item of which he refused.
I even included the SAPS in trying to resolve this matter but I was told that I won’t get my money because the sales person was doing me a favour by even trying to help me. I am so disappointed and undermined due to the unfair treatment that I received from your store and exploring options of how I will handle this matter further.
I am very disappointed in the manner at which I was treated at your store. I bought a bearing for the clutch plate on 22 December 2018 using the sample that I provided your salesperson. When I finally had a chance to have my car fixed by my mechanic, on Sunday 27 January 2019, we realized that the part was wrong. I then looked for a slip but couldn't locate it, however obtained a payment confirmation proof from Nedbank since the payment was done through EFT.
